Oils

What are oils?

Oils are fats that are liquid at room temperature

Lightweight Oils

For Skin // Lightweight Oils are non-greasy oils. Some lightweight oils are non-comedogenic. "Noncomedogenic oils help keep dry skin supple and oily skin acne-free. That's because noncomedogenic oils don't clog pores. This allows skin to breathe, remain hydrated, and keeps it free from breakouts."

For Hair // Lightweight Oils are amazing for Low Porosity Hair. The structure of low porosity hair doesn't easily allow moisture to be absorbed into the hair shaft. Lightweight Oils will easily get into the hair shaft.

Here Are Some Lightweight Oils

Grapeseed Oil - Contains high levels of vitamin E, which has high antioxidant properties, and has shown to contribute to the reduction of damaged cells from free radicals in the body. This protection helps prevent heart disease and some cancers.

Jojoba Oil - Has antiinflammatory properties which help to tame chaffing and chapping, reduce redness caused by drying, ease the effects of eczema and rosacea, and keep skin calm and comfortable. The Vitamin E and B-complex vitamins in the Jojoba Oil help in skin repair and damage control.

Sunflower Oil - High in protein and rich in healthy fats, as well as antioxidants that can lower your risk of developing serious conditions.

Safflower Oil - Stimulates blood circulation to promote hair growth. It also contains high amounts of oleic acid, which sinks into the scalp easily. The vitamin E and essential fatty acids provide moisture to the length of the hair.

Argan Oil - Contains a large number of healing properties, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Both help reduce symptoms for a number of different inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis and rosacea. Argan oil supports  hair follicles. The antioxidants in argan oil promote cell production.

Rosehip Oil - Is loaded with skin-nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids. It also contains phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.

Almond Oil - Promotes heart health, stabilize blood sugar levels, prevent free radical damage and help you maintain a healthy weight. This oil makes an excellent moisturizer for both the skin and hair, and it may even help prevent stretch marks and protect your skin from sun damage.

Benefits of Oils

For Skin //  "Oils are lipophilic, they can penetrate deep into the skin, trapping water and other moisturizing goodness in, while keeping toxins and other bad stuff out. Some oils also help to fortify and strengthen our own natural skin barrier."

For Hair //  "Oils add add nutrients and vitamins to the scalp and hair follicles. They strengthen hair follicles to promote hair growth and lustrous hair, reduces frizz in the hair & n ourishes hair roots and keeps hair soft and hydrated."

AND MUCH MORE!

Heavyweight Oils

For Skin // Heavyweight Oils are thick greasy oils. Some heavyweight oils are comedogenic. They can clog pores and potentially lead to acne (when using them on the face).  For the body, they are amazing especially if someone has dry itchy skin.

For Hair // Heavyweight Oils are amazing for High Porosity Hair. Having high porosity hair means that products can be easily absorbed by the hair but can't retain the moisture for a long time. Heavyweight Oils will deeply penetrate the hair shaft by sealing in the moisture.

Olive Oil - Has many vitamins, including A, D, and K, as well as vitamin E. It is an antioxidant, it will help prevent or reverse damage from cancer-causing ultraviolet radiation.

Avocado Oil - It is great for healing wounds. "The beta carotene, protein, lecithin, fatty acids, and vitamins A, D, and E found in avocado oil help moisturize and protect your skin from damaging UV rays and also increase collagen metabolism".
